Japanese for Beginners: A2.2 Overview

Learn to express polite requests, questions, needs, descriptions, comparisons, emotions, group statements, and intent.
Competency Levels
Master reading and writing Hiragana, Katakana, and 300 Kanji; understand 1600 vocabulary words; read short texts like ads and brochures; write paragraphs, letters, and guided compositions; confidently listen to and understand polite speech; and engage in structured conversations with accurate grammar and meaning.
Topics
Cover personal themes like family, hobbies, health, and shopping; abstract concepts like schedules, prices, and directions; and cultural topics such as holidays, festivals, and Japanese monuments.

What to Expect
- Final Exam: At the end of the course, you will take a written and verbal exam. A score of 70% is required to progress to the next level.

Terms and Conditions
- Your course fee includes one digital copy of the learning materials. If you’d prefer a hard copy, you can purchase one from our recommended supplier at an extra cost.
- Group classes are designed for 30 academic hours per CEFR level for 3-7 students. If only two students enrol, the course will shift to a semi-private format with 20 academic hours.
- Want to switch to a different group or schedule? No problem! Just let us know at least 7 days before the course starts.
- All our teachers are native speakers of the target language. If your teacher falls ill or has an emergency, we’ll arrange a substitute who’s fully briefed on your progress.
- Once you’ve started with your group, switching to another group or schedule isn’t possible.
- Please note that course fees are non-refundable once the group classes have begun.
- We can record group lessons for later viewing, but only if everyone in the class agrees before the course starts.
- At the end of every program, you’ll take a final exam (both written and verbal). To move up to the next CEFR level, you’ll need to score at least 70%.
- After completing your final exam, you’ll receive a progress report, recommendations, and a certification for your hard work!
